Pipe Flotation and Buoyancy Webinar
WEBINAR DETAILS:
What: Pipe Flotation and Buoyancy
When: November 26th, 2024 | 11:00am - 12:00pm CST
Where: Virtual
Why: 1 PDH
Cost: Free
DESCRIPTION
This class discusses the possibility of flotation of buried drainage pipe systems. I will be providing information about why this is a timely subject. Buoyancy will be explained and how it can affect buried pipelines. Two accepted methods of accounting for buoyant forces in pipeline designs including factors of safety will be presented. Finally, I will provide some example situations.
Key Takeaways
1. Understand the basic concept of Buoyancy.
2. Differentiate between two accepted methods of soil resistance calculations.
3. Learn how using flowable fill must be addressed during installation
