DESCRIPTION

Once a storm drain pipeline or roadway culvert has been installed, how do you know if it was installed correctly? The answer is a procedure known as Post Installation Inspection (PII). PII provides the owner/designer with the data needed to determine whether proper installation occurred prior to final acceptance. It is in the owner’s best interest to know that the entire system has been properly installed, without excessive construction damage, which might potentially compromise the system.

Key Takeaways

1. Explain the importance of post-installation inspection.

2. Identify who requires post-installation inspection.

3. Distinguish areas of evaluation during post-installation inspection.
